On the one hand I’m happy about it, because it means my mole-vision days are over, but on the other hand I’m afraid there are no glasses which wouldn’t turn me into something looking like “Stuffy girlfriend with boring regular job and no fascinating aspects or interesting opinion”. Mh, when I think about it….however there are glasses which let you look a bit more individual: Nose-glasses and Gary Larson styled glasses!

Ok, when I get my glasses I will show them to you.

I had a strange problem with my info@jollyrotten.de email account. I couldn’t receive any messages from it since december. Today the account decided to be normal again and showed me 125 emails.

There is a lot of spam, but also commission requests and private mail. I will try to answer as soon as possible!

*kicks account and leaves*

Most people only know me as “the one who draws well”, that’s why I often have the feeling that I am not human but a drawing machine. And in some way it’s true, because I always used to draw everyday and produced quite a lot of pictures. Now I hardly touch a pencil. It’s horrifying, because I always said “If I stop drawing, I die”. And now after a six month creative block my fear that this statement might get verified twists my guts. People say “it will come back, it definitely will come back”, and little signs have already been there, just like the human-face-dog I uploaded here. But living in this crisis for 6 months, the longest time I ever had a block, makes me doubt a lot of things. Lot of personal questions evolve from it, like “What alternative do I have If I have to give up drawing?”
To everybody who doesn’t know how it is to draw, to make up characters and have fun of it, pretend this crisis as If someone takes away something very precious from you, like your hands, your voice… something essential is missing and you go crazy.

On the other hand I had a lot of very good reasons, why my fantasy left me, beginning with my horrible hand pain and accumulating in a lot of other things. Fortunately my hand pain has gotten much better, but time by time it hurts again and I’m alerted like my number is up ( btw. still nobody knows why it’s there *shrugs*). And you don’t even want to know my other sorrows. :)
Nevertheless I try to work on things, even though they are not of the 2-Dimesional kind (except photography xP). Like knitting, sewing, making little soapstone animals….

But I’m very afraid of the next semester at college, which soon starts, because I HAVE TO BE CREATIVE. =__= Fortunately I already made a big decision, I won’t be doing any fictional things, only non-fictional/scientific illustration, because that’s currently way more easy for me.
I so hope that I one day can make up a story again, make a comic and such. I’m still so sad, that I had to give up a comic project for Erlangen i was working on with some nice people, but that’s (my) life. =__=

I have no idea If people are still interested in this blog since the decreasing number of drawings, but I hope that some people still like to follow and enjoy my other works and thoughts. Now I can only wait and drink tea.
hopefully inspiration, muse and fantasy will come back to me.
Maybe it already started and I haven’t noticed.
Otherwise I’m fine and busy.

First of all a happy new year to you all! And in my case 2010 better be happy, because it simply can’t get crappier than the last year!

Unfortunately, due to personal reasons, I can’t show you a lot of new drawings. The only good thing I’ve done through out the last months is the Cairn Terrier, who can be found in my gallery “serious illustrations”. It was a request from an acquaintance.

Well then, I hope this wasn’t the last drawing I did this year and we’ll see us later.
